Clara movie awards on hold in 2020

Obviously there have been no movies to review in 2020 to make an awards show this year.

"Borat 2" was quite funny and cringe worthy, but it is one of a half dozen films actually seen.

Most of the handful of films predate the pandemic.

"Bill and Ted Face the Music" was fun nostalgia, but not worthy of the big awards.

It's kind of too obvious to claim "Mulan" and "Artemis Fowl" were bad.

"Dolittle" was probably worse than Mulan.

"Onward" was fun, but was it worthy of high honors? Probably not.

We have not seen "Tenet".

The Alt Transformers MUSH series will clearly walk away with best in house production of the year. The second season of which has started. Eighteen episodes including the 7 episode pilot were produced from February to November this year. Two of this new 'season' started this month.

Want to see "Spontaneous" and some of the other flicks first. Maybe we'll get around to it.

Oh and "The New Mutants" was kind of meh, but hardly worth the ire it got. It was way better than Sucker Punch or Dark Phoenix.

Wrath of the Overlords pays homage to Marvel star Boseman and Sept 11 in end credits

Transformers MUSH added a dedication to the end credits of the latest episode, which came out today, Wrath of the Overlords, to Marvel star Chadwick Boseman, of Black Panther the movie, who died of cancer. Also the dedication remembered those lost from September 11, 2001, as it was completed just after that.

Also this goes toward some sympathy for whatever happened with the writers of these stories as well. Some of them have actually died over the 17 years since the MUSH.

The episode does mention that one of the story writers had been banned, as a nod to that, in a fourth wall breaking moment.

Clarifying some Alt Transformers MUSH rumors

They're going to do "Stranded" but as the backdoor pilot to The Sentinels but use the remaining short scripts instead of the McKinney novels, but set it in the present day.

Stranded is one of the stories, and although Kat said it is like a pilot, it is not. It is a standalone episode coming in a few weeks to a month. The Sentinels would be a foolish thing to use as script fodder. It would be an in joke. Best to make Rebels instead, or something the Intergalactic, and have it star the  Macross, or do something original. This is not set in stone at all.

Can anyone get in on doing the Mouse Trap films and appear in them if they just authored episodes?

No. We have no plans for an author submission. This is confused because in the archive there are several authors, but they're past authors who had worked before in the MUSH and already had submitted when it was allowed. Every one of the stories came out before 2007. Most are from the 2003 Trans Tech magazine.

Trolls have appeared to complain that they did not like this author or that story, for reasons, and also commented that one of the former presenters had been kicked off the TF boards for being a troll himself, and yet you are using some of their stories?

We are aware of this person. It is not his current life that interests us, or what he did in 2013 or so, but rather, one of the stories which was accepted. The story will go on. It is in fact the current one in production. The behind the scenes does mention he was kicked off though. The troll will be satiated. We're not about to start a flame argument over whether or not an author should be separated from his or her work.

Surely you are going to give them all royalties in he end?

Technically they get a byline. Each story chosen was chosen well over 15 years ago, so their submissions and ad sense would have long expired. The byline is enough. Also, each story is not put up monetized. We can't make profit on them. So they can't either. Think of them as free content creators.

But you guys did a Macross 7 story, so how is that any more obscure than Macross Do You Remember Love?

It is about the same. But when we paid homage to Macross 7 during Shadow Children we also wrote it so that novices would instantly follow the narrative. The story is basically the two dimensions merge to stop the bad guy from doing something mean involving the hero's past. It's a very simple story. Anyone can follow it. Macross DYML is a condensed version of the Macross show, and is thus extremely confusing to anyone who is not familiar with it. Hero's journey again, but there's a lot of intertwined plots, the love triangle, and the rest. It's just not likly any version we'd do would make sense.

Are you the ones who brought Rick Hunter home?

Yep, in the final episode of the Trans Tech series, the SDF Three arrives home out of space time, in 2046, and the universe is well. The Endless Circle is a slightly different universe where events happen a bit changed, as the result of the Yune Timeline. Back then we just assumed surely Yune and the Shadow Chronicles would be eventually finished, but they never were, which is why in 2015 through 2018 you got our version of how those stories would have unfolded, Space Bridge and Shadow Children and Return.

Alt Transformers MUSH reaches half way mark with Sibling Rivalry

Days ago, the Transformers fan film series reached a milestone of passing the middle mark. They have done 7 hour long Corrosion of War episodes, an 8th Transitions of Wrath episode, and now, a 9th episode titled Sibling Rivalry.

Unaware of who the anonymous Jazzy was who submitted the story 17 years ago to Trans Tech magazine, they went with giving her credit, but changing her Mary Sue type character to the spunky Rahkshi, and made Jazz not be the brother, but rather used Sport, the other one introduced in the Corrosion story.

Now that they have reached the hump, it's time to barrel toward the release of the remaining season episodes.

Four one off stories are in pre production and then the remaining few big ones, and then it's over by 2021, barring no future hiatus.

The last was a hiatus between May 19 and August 14.

Production on something called "Wrath of Overlord" begins shortly.

Looks to be it has nothing to do with the Netflix show, War for Cybertron.

Also because no movies had come out in theaters, they cannot review new movies. Making their own makes sense.

Alt Transformers MUSH might be the coolest Trans Fan Films of 2020

Kal Kat has produced a new series of stories based on the Alt Transformers Multi User Shared Halluciantion or MUSH site platforms of the 1990s to early 2000s, and has adapted their lengedary story, Corrosion of War without End as a mini series pilot!

On Weird Kitty 07, you can watch for free the story as based on the Rob Powers novel, which had come out in 2002, and been printed in Trans Tech Magazine in 2003.

They had several others, and they were found in an archive in 2016 after some time hidden away.

The old Trans Tech magazines and scripts were dusted off, and out of the 100 some stories, many of them short, 21 were long and good enough to become part of a series.

With that, they intended to do one of the others first, like Transitions by Bobbi Carothers, but when the pandemic started, it was like, they are going to be locked in the studio (small runabout) for several weeks, so why not do Corrosion first instead!

The channel has making of vignettes of all the episodes, seven of them, and also bloopers and out takes in the making of, following the story.

They changed some characters to the Karda and had them played by Transformers.

So it is an origin story reboot of Karda. It is somehow awesome.

March through May were months to complete and air Corrosion each week. Even some of the old MUSH people chimed in and gave their imput, and one or two released their pandemic inspired stories too.

Late in May, Kat did "Transitions of Wrath" too, based on the Carothers story, where he made it a feature length epic, which the story really was. It was darker in tone though and had a message about not being abusive, which was interesting for a Transformers story.

The next one will have to be a fun one again!

"Redemption", or "Sibling Rivalry" perhaps, or one of those, but not yet "Underground" because that one is dark again.

You can check out for free all of the past Transformers meet Robotech and Space Bridge and Corrosion of War without End and the like at Weird Kitty 07 on YouTube.

"Not bad. Not how I would have done it, but not bad. I see you only had the toys to work with and did not have a budget, so bravo." Powers himself commented.

Kats video blogs did not make written blog for months

In February, "Sonic the Hedgehog finally dropped, a movie that had been recalled for 5 months to redo all the special effects. It wasn't quite worth the wait, hardly garnishing an interest. Jim Carrey chewed scenery and it inspired Channel; Awesome to comment on method acting, but the fallacy was Jim Carrey is not a method actor. He plays Jim Carrey. Sonic is an alien who comes to Earth by accident and learns to befriend a cop and go on a road trip.

Also in February. finally saw Dolittle and it was really bad. Sure there were some jokes, but most of the comedic voice actors as animals were over rated. The cringe worthy colonoscopy of a dragon scene was horrible. A mad professor goes to an impossible island to save the Queen, (Victoria, heh), from a plot to kill her and steal the throne. If you really like the comedy actors, you will like the animals, but this foray for Robert Downey Jr. was really bad. I'd rather watch Murphy in his bad version.

Then in March, finally went to see "Parasite" as the news of a pandemic broke. Ironic considering the material. The movie was highly over rated also. I didn't loath it as some did, because I understood enough Korean to get the mannerisms, from many years as former martial artist with Koreans and others. The movie seemed to get it in the best foreign film category, and the ending is fun, but it is in no way best picture of last year. Parasite was about a clever grifter family who decide to trick a rich family into boarding them.

Then went to see a sequel to a film I had not seen, "My Hero Academia 2, Heroes Unleashed" which was okay. It certainly wasn't going to win the award for best anime, but it was at times enjoyable, and the dubbing wasn't bad. The film was about a group of super mutants, and it wasn't "The New Mutants" who have to protect an island to get their merit badges as hero scouts.

Preferred "The Weathering with You (or The Weather Girl)" over it.

Then came Pixar's "Onward" a love letter to the Dungeons and Dragons crowd, of which I had dabbled in the 90s. The film was fun and sweet, but not too much so, and although wasn't "Up" or "Inside Out", it it was good. Two brothers who happen to be orcs, but fairly friendly looking, go on a quest to revive their Dad for a day.

Oscar Nominees Snub Marvel movies again

It seems Disney did not even consider putting up Captain Marvel or Avengers Endgame for any Oscars, so they snubbed their own films, and for Donwey Jr. Because they failed to send in the movies for consideration it's their fault.

"The Irishman" which never played here, is sure to walk way with some of them. In fact, this dull plodding movie about mobsters, unlike the fantasy about killers 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' is sure to walk away with actor, director, and even possibly picture. It's not that it deserves it. It's just something old fogies are familiar with, like comfort food, an old recliner, or a set of adult diapers. Ha.

Don't be fooled, "Once Upon ad Time in Hollywood" being nominated doesn't mean it's going to win anything. Tarantino might have made it seem like he will get a nod, and maybe they will toss a curve ball to Pitt or DeCaprio, but it will not win best picture.

"Marriage Story" never aired here, so it could not be reviewed.

"Parasite" should not be nominated. It's on Netflix. Unless it is something else that never aired here.

That song in Toy Story 4 sucked. Why is that being nominated? Really? Over even nominating the one from "Frozen 2" or from the live action Aladdin where the girl makes guards vanish? Well clearly they weren't considered.

"JoJo Rabbit" never aired here. It's good, I suspect, but it never aired, in a valley with millions of people!

The old fogies are not likely to vote for "Little Women" really. They're going to go for something nobody actually saw, and find an actress nobody actually saw act.

They snubbed as many female directors and actors as they did two years ago.

While the old fogies pat themselves on the back for again ignoring action pictures, after giving an improbably nod to that horrid Suicide Squad, (which didn't deserve one), and another expected one to Black Panther, (the most important superhero film of the last decade) they've gone back to being out of touch again.

But Phoenix will win for Joker. Note that this film is not a superhero movie. It is an Oscar worthy psychological thriller which just happens to be about a super villain from comics. It could just as soon be a thriller and not be about the Joker at all. The script is also excellent. Hope it wins best picture too, if I had to choose.

Tom Hanks did get a nod. Maybe he will win too, for that Mr. Rodgers movie.

This year really there was no wowing Pixar film. Toy Story 4 was only passable. Just good is not excellent. It's just good.

The 92nd academy awards show airs February 9 2020, confusingly called the 2020 Oscars,m when every year it should be the previous year. It's the 2019 Oscars.

January films begin and Clara winners

Some late movies were added to the list come the ending of the year, and now that it is nearly the middle of the month.

"Little Women" walked away with adaptation of a previous written work, as the umpteenth remake of that series.

"1917" was not a sequel to the 2018 version or the earlier 1970 version, but still got an okay, even though critics are fawning all over it for its realism about WW1, although therein is a caveat, some of it is far from realistic. The film depicts at times a single hero dodging machine guns and snipers. Nope. Also coincidences and crashes made it kind of silly in parts. It likely won't get the Oscar because it's not making much money, but neither did "Dark Waters" the DuPont movie.

Clara Movie Winners:
Best Picture of 2019: Marvel's Endgame

Best Horror Film: Joker

(Thriller and actor also)

Best Fantasy Film: Captain Marvel

Best Documentary Based on a TV Adaptation: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Honorable mention: Downtun Abby (same category)

Best Comedy: Dora and the Lost City of Gold

Best Drama as Story: Little Women

(Actress, supporting actress, Ronan, Pugh)

(TV adaptation also)

Worst Picture: Rambo Last Blood

Worst Comedy: Last Christmas

Worst Musical: Cats

Okay adaptation of a biography: 1917

Nothing much this month really. 1917 had come in back in December in limited release.

"Marriage Story" has no come out where this is, although it got good ratings.

"Dolemite is my Name" has not been seen yet.
