Oscar Nominees Snub Marvel movies again

It seems Disney did not even consider putting up Captain Marvel or Avengers Endgame for any Oscars, so they snubbed their own films, and for Donwey Jr. Because they failed to send in the movies for consideration it's their fault.

"The Irishman" which never played here, is sure to walk way with some of them. In fact, this dull plodding movie about mobsters, unlike the fantasy about killers 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' is sure to walk away with actor, director, and even possibly picture. It's not that it deserves it. It's just something old fogies are familiar with, like comfort food, an old recliner, or a set of adult diapers. Ha.

Don't be fooled, "Once Upon ad Time in Hollywood" being nominated doesn't mean it's going to win anything. Tarantino might have made it seem like he will get a nod, and maybe they will toss a curve ball to Pitt or DeCaprio, but it will not win best picture.

"Marriage Story" never aired here, so it could not be reviewed.

"Parasite" should not be nominated. It's on Netflix. Unless it is something else that never aired here.

That song in Toy Story 4 sucked. Why is that being nominated? Really? Over even nominating the one from "Frozen 2" or from the live action Aladdin where the girl makes guards vanish? Well clearly they weren't considered.

"JoJo Rabbit" never aired here. It's good, I suspect, but it never aired, in a valley with millions of people!

The old fogies are not likely to vote for "Little Women" really. They're going to go for something nobody actually saw, and find an actress nobody actually saw act.

They snubbed as many female directors and actors as they did two years ago.

While the old fogies pat themselves on the back for again ignoring action pictures, after giving an improbably nod to that horrid Suicide Squad, (which didn't deserve one), and another expected one to Black Panther, (the most important superhero film of the last decade) they've gone back to being out of touch again.

But Phoenix will win for Joker. Note that this film is not a superhero movie. It is an Oscar worthy psychological thriller which just happens to be about a super villain from comics. It could just as soon be a thriller and not be about the Joker at all. The script is also excellent. Hope it wins best picture too, if I had to choose.

Tom Hanks did get a nod. Maybe he will win too, for that Mr. Rodgers movie.

This year really there was no wowing Pixar film. Toy Story 4 was only passable. Just good is not excellent. It's just good.

The 92nd academy awards show airs February 9 2020, confusingly called the 2020 Oscars,m when every year it should be the previous year. It's the 2019 Oscars.

January films begin and Clara winners

Some late movies were added to the list come the ending of the year, and now that it is nearly the middle of the month.

"Little Women" walked away with adaptation of a previous written work, as the umpteenth remake of that series.

"1917" was not a sequel to the 2018 version or the earlier 1970 version, but still got an okay, even though critics are fawning all over it for its realism about WW1, although therein is a caveat, some of it is far from realistic. The film depicts at times a single hero dodging machine guns and snipers. Nope. Also coincidences and crashes made it kind of silly in parts. It likely won't get the Oscar because it's not making much money, but neither did "Dark Waters" the DuPont movie.

Clara Movie Winners:
Best Picture of 2019: Marvel's Endgame

Best Horror Film: Joker

(Thriller and actor also)
