The pilot for the 7 episode Starship Locations Strange Worlds is currently in production on the stages formerly used for Alt Transformers MUSH.
All of the MUSH can be seen online, as the complete two seasons, full series, for free, with making of and bloopers.
Production on Starship Locations began immediately after MUSH wrapped with some but not many of the old sets being useful. TF fans will recognize some of the backdrops, but most had to be made new.
Most of the summer was not spent doing the setup, but a lot was, and they had leftover scraps, so they built a fully realized Macross Bioship and a landing craft, just in case you need a Bioship in some later episodes. Heh.
The hero ships, the Chimera A and the Emmetti Till A were built to scale slightly larger than their Chimera counterparts, indicating the Picard show era the new series will be set in, about 2402.
It will be free to watch as usual.
The filming did have a typical 3 day stall during this past week. It does not take MUSH cast any time at all to do this though, and it will not take 13 years, as did the Chimera, 2019, which is still out and doing well reviews wise.
The sequel will take place 14 years into their future, in 2402, as the first was in 2388.
The gap is because they had to jump as the characters have aged 14 years.
All of the seven stories are based on premises and stories by other people, from the pilot inspired by David Gerrold of Star Trek fame, to Red Letter Media, to Channel Awesome, and Ancient Aliens Reviews.
They can see no reason that the pilot would not be ready by Halloween 2021. Wow.
This is partly possible because still technically it's a lockdown set and there is one major voice actor.
