The Bridges of Madison County PG 13
The most boring movie ever told. Sorry Clint, but this just doesn't appeal to anyone under 50. The romantic story of a photographer going out snapping pictures and falling in love just isn't even remotely interesting. Gets kudos for picturesque locations. That's it. Yeah, and the dialog was nice. But it still is only 2 stars because it's really, really, really long and boring! Review by Adam Browne
Ha! Yes, it was really boring. As you said, it's not for those under 50, but go farther and say, not for those who have not read the book and think the movie is boring! Well it did play like a travel journal crossed with a bad romance novel, so there was no way it could have been received as anything less pretentious than that. The formula is Oscar bait though. Old fogies at the awards love their long, drawn out dramas where nobody has to actually think faster than a crusty old mule across a bridge. And the love story, come on! How the heck would she even be interested in him? And how come this seems like a rip off of Stienbeck's stuff somehow? Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteAnd I did read the book. It was also boring.
