Review: 'Leatherheads' is trying for the kickoff and fumbles

            George Clooney directs, and mugs for the camera...a lot...in this football fantasy story about a Duluth team of misfits with an aging quarterback, Clooney himself. Renee Zellwiger is the reporter trying to get the gossipy side to his story. Clooney never once convinces you he isn't playing himself and that he isn't just doing this because he's no longer a stud from the mid 1990s. The silly trick ending will defy any football fan, college or pro, to explain how in the heck it would work.
