Review: 'Adventureland' is charming fun

Adventureland   R
Greg Mottola and the producers of 'Superbad' return to the genre of coming of age comedy in this delightful and often bittersweet amusement park story set in Pittsburg, PA. Jesse Eisenberg plays a college student who cannot find a summer job so he takes one at the local carnava; amusement park, where he meets colorful characters, a sleazy hunky workman, punks, and the girl of his dreams. It's the summer of 1987 as told through fresh new stars, like Kirsten Stewart and Bill Hader, and the rest. Relatively unknown but good actors translate over well from 'Superbad' and 'Infinite Playlist' and 'Juno'. Eisenberg seems to channel Michael Cera a lot. The message is also good. Could be a sleeper hit.

  1. Ironically Kirstwen Stewart would go on to be in Twilight. She is actually a better actress here.
