Review: 'Napoleon Dynamite' is quirky fun riff on teen comedies

Napoleon Dynamite   PG
Jon Heder, Tina Majorino (Andre, Waterworld), and Efren Ramirez play in a sweetly nerdy comedy about a misfit imaginative boy, (who probably is Autistic), and a love interest, and a run for school persident. Has more Y Generation kids appeal than it does for the X Gen adults who loved Rushmore, its more cynical cousin, (ripping it off actually), but is actually slow in parts. Set in an Idaho school instead of a preppy academy, as in Rushmore, (eight years before), and not a sequel, the story does have a Rushmore like loser or two. It's as if the older brother in this is Rushmore, and the teenager is Napoeon. Yeah, but it's not a sequel. Anyway, it does end with a hilarious talent show, even if it's not about Vietnam, but about a parody of Breakin'. Gosh, it's not a rip off. Gosh!!! It has mad skills. Well kid, it's derivitive, like it or not. (Reviewed as though Napoleon would review it).
