Review: 'Sydney White' is yet another fish out of water story and sometimes funny

Sydney White   PG 13
Joe Nussbaum's take on Snow White is a surreal modern college teen drama where Amanda Bynes is like Snow White and she has seven dorks or nerds. Does anyone even say "dork" anymore? The idea that she is now in college and is trying to fit in could have been interesting, but due to it being fish out of water like then playing ‘House Bunny’, the same idea, it kind of got drowned out by the racy other movie. Not nearly as catchy as She's The Man, but far better than most young teen comedies. It was Bynes’ last lead character movie, although she would go on to have bit parts later on, like in ‘Hairspray’, and would end up releasing previously shot ‘Love Wrecked’ direct to DVD, based on the box office results from this one. Due to the press from the last one, the reviewer also got promotional stuff from this one.
