Tangled PG
This animated take on the classic Rapunzel story, the story of the girl in the tower with the long hair, is yet another Disney and Pixar gem. Disney musicals seem to be coming a comeback since the frog princess one. Helped that Menkin did some of the music. Mandy Moore and Donna Murphy chew scenes and get caught in in spools of CG hair, which sounds bizarre. Visually interesting CG and 3D, but really a 2D version would be just as good. The premise is an evil witch finds a flower that can regenerate lives and through complications this flower ends up consumed by the queen of a village and it is passed to her child who later grows hair everywhere and grants wishes, as the witch steals the girl to lock her in a tower until she is 18. On he even of her birthday though, she meets a thief who climbs to her tower to hide, and they both flee into the woods, only to find various singing roughians and a silly horse, and the witch on their tails. Not hilarious but has moments of fun and enough suggestive humor to keep adults interested also. Review by Adam Browne
