Review: 'War, Inc.' is a hybrid political satire with homages to others

War, Inc.    R
Joshua Seftler's biting satire of Middle East greed, evil oil men and the Bush Administration is violent and quick witted. Trying for Tarantino territory, the director tells the story of an assassin who plots to kill an oil rich politico in a fictional dystopian lawless country mocking Iraq. A hybrid of Dr. Strangelove, The Wizard of Oz, Grosse Pointe Blank, and A Clockwork Orange, the story doesn't achieve greatness in copying these films, only in smirking at the audience in a violent cartoony way. Ackroyd, Cusack and Duff are just too much. Yep, Hilary Duff has graduated to mocking Arabs as a sexpot, and that was the fun part. This movie is too much noise too late. If it came out in 2005 it would have been better.
