Review: '40 Days and 40 Nights' is impossible Lenten quest premise as lead guy is not convincing

40 Days and 40 Nights   R
Set in San Francisco, two lovers, both hetero suburbanite city dwellers, decide to break it off, so Matt, the boy, (Hartlett), decides that he will abstain from any sex whatsoever for 40 days and nights, like he's taking Lent or something. He apparently is a sex crazed straight guy...in San Francisco....which itself is impossible. This movie sucked. It made people who actually were 30 something virgins get mad and discuss it in coffee clutches, shopping malls, and parks, for months! College students, meanwhile, found it funny and thought it was so true to life. No, it's a pale imitation of a movie. (The Pick Up Artist comes to mind). The Y Gen just doesn't get it because they hadn't seen anything better yet.
