Review: 'Forrest Gump is crowd pleasing with mixed messages

Forrest Gump   PG 13
Robert Zemekis takes his creative science effects idea, and those of his team, and decides to put Tom Hanks in actual film stock through US history, in this oddbal take on America as seen thought the eyes of a simple man. Tom Hanks, Gary Senise, Haley Joel Osmet and an all star cast trip through history in this fable of love, heart, and redemption, even if at times the messages are a bit like getting hit over the head with a brick. Even so, "Life is like a box of chocolates." The story has been spoofed since many times. The best picture of 1994. Since it is a fable, one can forgive the seight against "a mysterious disease", (you're not even supposed to get it's AIDS because they never tell you), or the Vietnam trauma, which makes it dated, but Tom Hanks makes up for it playing the simple Forrest Gump so well.
