Airplane! PG
David Zucker and cast create
probably one of the funniest comedy spoofs of 70's disaster flicks ever. If
you've seen Airport 77, you'll laugh even more! "It's a twister!"
This movie is gold. The idea of making fun of everything involving an airline,
from the goofy exaggerated airport staff, to the impossibly dense pilots on a plane
going across country, did the same thing ‘Dr. Strangelove’ did for the cold war
paranoia. Fear of flying is put to the test as whacked out passenger Striker is
forces to fly a jet liner when the pilots get the runs from the airline food
and can’t do anything. The sketches are amazing and quite randy for a PG movie.
Really it couldn’t be duplicated today. The all-star cast makes for some fine
comedy.
