Aliens (II) R
James Cameron takes on the legend of planet LB421 in this harsh space marine pounding action follow up set 57 years after the original, after a Ripley takes a long sleep. When Weaver's Ripley awakens almost 60 years later, she finds that some idiots colonized the planet she had been to, and now the colony is in trouble, so she and a crack team of space marines are headed there. Not as scary so much as more action packed this time around. One military oddity, "A holes and elbows" doesn't mean let's get going. It means get down and pick up the stuff you dropped. Just saying. The story goes on to be somewhat like Terminator crossed with various icky monster alien movies of the past. Not as scary because it's more jerks and frights than actual spooky things in the dark. The gritty space marines are offed one by one because Cameron doesn't really like them much, military types in general, and the heroes are left trying to flee the planet and blast the bad alien Queen. The final scene has been spoofed so much by this time that the original has been lost. Ripley must face off with the Queen in the landing bay, in a power armor loader thing, to protect the girl, and she lays down the law. Who cares if physics went out the air lock and she would have been blown out into space too. A holes and elbows.
