Review: 'Batman Begins' retrains Batman in a new Gotham epic

Batman Begins   PG 13
Christopher Nolan reinvents the Batman franchize for the Y Generation, in a darker, grittier world than even Burton did. Considered a reboot more than part 5, the movie pits Batman, (Christian Bale), against the Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) and Raz Al Ghoul (Liam Neeson). An all star cast comes along for the ride, including a clever in from Morgan Freeman. Dazzles with special effects, but not much CG, as Nolan wants to tell a story, not just overload you with effects. Similar to the 1990s comics, such as Shadow of the Bat and Dark Knight Returns. Very cool. Very Gothic. Not just a good reboot, but a great one, even surpassing Burton's interpretation. The story is about Batman's origins again, not explored in Burton's movies, whereas he is trained by the mysterious Ghoul and comes to Gotham to avenge the deaths of his parents, and fight crime, as the fear that would scare criminals at night, a bat man! Scarecrow attempts to get to the crime boss top as a masked man also, and Batman rises to the challenge.
