Bolt PG
This Disney Pixar movie is like lightning in a bottle. The union of the two juggernaut animation studios usually pays off an this is the biggest since 'Wall E" and "Toy Story 2". Set in an overblown Hollywood studio (Sovereign Studios, cute), a dog named Bolt (Travolta), (bolt, 'volt', an ironic type casting), thinks he really has superpowers which he uses to defend his person, Penny (Cyrus). When a couple of cruel on set kitties convince him to take off, he is accidentally trapped in a shipping box and sent to New York. Once there he meets a smart sassy kitty, (Essman), who reluctantly helps him to find his way home believing him somewhat nuts. A cute and sassy nod to girls and dogs (even though usually it's a boy and his dog), and a somewhat biting satire of the studio system. The execs don't even look for Bolt. They just try and replace him. The girl tries to find her dog, but it's the reverse really, and a worthy addition to the top best movies of the Pixar and Disney franchise. Review by Adam Browne
