Fame PG
This is the 2009 follow up to the hit 1980 movie and series, Fame. The extended version is considerably better than the heavily edited theatrical version. The New York School for the Performing Arts, (yet another school kind of related to the first one), does a casting call for talented students who want to get into theater arts. Kevin Tahceroen takes the spotlight and makes a hip hop, generation 'Y' version of the original. At times too quick on cuts and confusing, and at other times, sentimental and streetwise, the flick has a cast of 'new' stars. Other than that, it's not your Father or Mother's 'Fame'. Tween relatives likened it to High School Musical. Little do they know, HSM ripped of Fame from 1980. Ironic that Fame 2009 gives the Disney movie the 'ownage' and is actually a better movie. Three stars for longer version, 2 and a half for theater version. Characters still lacked the style and soul of the original, but the jumpy fusion rock, hip hop version of the title score is 'sick' and Fame 1980 all that. Review by Adam Browne
Then Glee ripped off them both. Lol. Not reviewed yet.
