Adam Sandler stars as a luckless bad
hockey player who must get back his Grandma's house from the bank which has
foreclosed on it. When he lucks into a golf club he discovers his terrible slap
shot is actually an excellent golf shot. The formula of triumph over bad guy
and get the girl works on goal in this. At times this is Sandler's best, while
sometimes it is totally silly and others a little mean spirited. Captures that
late 1990s "exaggerated shouting is humor" to a T. Review by Adam Browne
