How to Train Your Dragon PG
Not familiar with the book from which this is based to enter a comparison. The movie version tells the story of a Viking village besieged by dragons and the coming of age story of a skinny young smith named Hiccup. Hiccup is ostracized for being clumsy but when he accidentally fells a dreaded night terror dragon, in secret he becomes its protector and friend, and mends its broken tail with a gadget. But his overbearing father and his teacher want do train him to fight dragons, while he is realizing that the beasts are intelligent and might be reasoned with. Despite the fact that Vikings only wore horned helmets in Renaissance Italian paintings, and we copied them ever since, it's a fun fantasy flick. Review by Adam Browne
