Review: 'Nothing But Trouble' is a movie about nothing interesting

Nothing But Trouble   PG 13
Dan Ackroyd directs one of the single most disappointing original SNL players movies ever made, and some might argue, the worst acutally. The aging cast, in 1991, play gross out versions of themselves going to a town of nastypeople, Valkenvalia, where insane monsters run rampant, and they have a funhouse that grinds people down to their bones. Lovely. Trying for straight up in your face 90s humor, they all fall flat, and do terrible performances, especially Chevy Chase and Ackroyd. John Candy is just sad. This is a terrible movie, but at the time, it was hyped in every major magazine as being a scifi comedy horror thriller. Yeah right. If only they got Mel Brooks to come in and rewrite the script, and direct it. Then it would have worked. But no. It seems full of itself too much for that.
