Review: 'Batman' is Gotham update of comic book legend

            Tim Burton's excellent Batman take puts Michael Keaton in the role, and Jack Nicholson as the Cheshire cat smiling Joker. Dark, brooding sets, lavish cool Batmobile and Batcave, and Kim Basinger, make for a thrilling movie ride. "Oh, I've got a bat in my belfrey!"In the summer of 1989, that was the coolest comic book movie ever, second only to 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'. The awesome updated Batmobile, the brooding wily Bruce Wayne and his alter ego, Batman, the criminally insane laugh master, the Joker, and his fiendish plot to gas Gotham city to death, made for entertainment of another caliber in the day. Now considered a little dated but then it was awesome.
