Star Trek Insurrection PG
Jonathan Frakes is given the chair again, to direct this adventure about some aliens who seem to have the secret to eternal youth. The problem, an evil admiral wants to exploit the planet, and Picard and Riker must stop him. The characters are well thought out and most of the humor works, however there are some cringe moments like the sing along in the shuttle, and so truly uncomfortable pop culture ideas, such as Hollywood type glamor, imparted in aliens that try to stay forever young, and odd sitcom type villains. Not as endearing as the movies with the old crew, this one would have made a good TNG episode, but not a great movie.
